Ahead of the 2023 general elections, medical students of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja, have organized a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration drive in the school.

The students, under the aegis of the Lagos State University Medical Students Association (LASUMSA), said the move was part of efforts to encourage youth participation in electoral process.

Held in conjunction with revelant agencies including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the PVC drive began with the online Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) and concluded with the biometric capturing.

The college authorities declared a lecture free period to allow students partake in the exercise.

Over 300 students, academic and non-academic staff members of LASUCOM were said to have benefited in the process.
