Petrol souvenir: Police arrest, charge prime suspect to court

As a follow-up on apprehending the culprit behind the distribution of kegs of petrol as souvenir at a party held recently, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested and charged the prime suspect to court.

This new development was contained in a statement dated, March 15, 2022 and signed by the Lagos State Command PPRO, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu.

According to the statement titled, “Petrol As Souvenir: Petrol Suspect Arrested, Arraigned,” the prime suspect, identified as Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl was charged to court on a 4-count charge of conduct.

The statement read in part, “The suspect, Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl, was arraigned on a four-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of peace, endangering human life by distributing combustible matter in a public gathering, intent to do harm to another and unlawfully carrying on the business of storage and containerising petroleum product without permit.”

“Ogbulu was arraigned yesterday 14th March, 2022 at the Special Offences (Mobile) Court of Lagos State in the Ikeja Magisterial District, Holden at Oshodi,” it added.

Assuring the public, the statement said, “The Commissioner of Police reiterates the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and further warns citizens against acts capable of endangering human lives.”

Recall that following the said viral video of petrol distribution as souvenir at Ogbulu’s party, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, immediately ordered the arrest of the suspect who was at the time a large.
