The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke is coasting home to victory in the governorship election in Osun State.
So far, Adeleke has more LGAs than his main challenger, incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as more results are expected to be announced.
At the time of filing this report, the PDP has polled 341,739 votes — well ahead of the APC with 308,318 votes.
In Olorunda LGA, the PDP flagbearer secured 21, 350 votes against Oyetola’s 18,709 votes.
Adeleke also won Ede South by a wide margin, polling 19,438 votes while the incumbent governor secured 5704.
In Orolu LGA, the ‘Dancing Senator’ secured 10,282 to defeat Oyetola who polled 9928 votes.
Adeleke polled 30,401 votes to win Osogbo as the APC candidate secured 22,952 votes.
In Odo Otin LGA, the PDP flagbearer won with 14,003 votes ahead of the incumbent governor who polled 13,482.
With a slim margin, Adeleke secured Ifelodun LGA, polling 17,107 votes to beat Oyetola who got 16,068 votes.
Irepodun LGA also went to the PDP, as Adeleke got 14,369 votes while the APC candidate secured 12,122.
The APC secured Iwo LGA with the incumbent governor, polling 17, 421 votes and Adeleke placed second with 16,914 votes.
The story is the same in Ayedade LGA where Oyetola got 14,527 votes to defeat Adeleke who polled 13,380 votes.
In his stronghold, Boripe LGA, the APC flagbearer polled 21,205 votes ahead of PDP candidate who got 7595.
Oyetola also Isokan LGA, polling 10,833 votes while Adeleke secured 10,777 votes.
In Ede North LGA, Adeleke emerged victorious, polling 23,931 while APC got 9,603 votes.
