Osinbajo, Bello, others to face APC presidential screening today

The Presidential Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, will screen the second batch of presidential hopefuls ahead of its special convention billed to hold on June 6.

The Committee headed by a former National Chairman of the APC, John Oyegun screened 12 aspirants on Monday.

They include a former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; immediate past Ministers, Rotimi Amaechi and Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; governors of Ebonyi and Jigawa States, David Umahi and Badaru Abubakar; former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

Others listed for screening on Monday were popular Pentecostal preacher, Tunde Bakare; former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; Senator Robert A. Boroffice; Uju Ken-Ohanenye, Nicholas Felix, and Ahmad Rufai Sani.

On Tuesday, the second batch of presidential aspirants are expected to be screened by the Committee.

Leading the pack are Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and Senate President, Ahmad Lawan. Also listed are Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello; his Ekiti and Cross River States counterparts, Kayode Fayemi and Ben Ayade; former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha; immediate past Minister, Godswill Akpabio; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.

Others are Tein Jack-Rich, Christopher Onu and Ikeobasi Mokelu.
