Oscars Dumps Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Anikulapo’ As Femi Adebayo’s “King of thieves” Makes List

The popular Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo has taken his Instagram page to share that his movie, King of thieves has made it to Oscars selection committee level. This is coming after Kunle Afolayan’s’Anikulapo’ failed to make the list despite the film’s huge acceptance by the viewing public.

 

 

The 43-year-old explained that his movie was among the three movies submitted by the country to be presented on October 21.

 

Adebayo added that the win will open Nigeria to the global market and stressed the need to keep telling true African stories.

 

He said “Among all movies submitted to the Nigerian Oscars selection committee, 3 movies topped with #KingofThieves being 1 of them.

 

 

“Interestingly, all 3 are indigenous Epic movies. This is great proof that telling our true African story will open us to the global market.

 

“Now, the Nigerian Oscars selection committee have been compelled to present a movie latest oct 21” he wrote.

 

While reacting in the comment session, fans and celebrities have congratulated him.
