Operation Crush arrests 6 cultists in Alapere

One Olawale Toheeb, 22, and Joseph Obinna, 25, has been arrested by the Operatives of Operation crush attached to Alapere Division.

Following the arrest of the duo was a distress call received by Operatives of Alapere Division that gangsters, suspected to be cult members of Eiye and Aiye Confraternity, were engaged in a battle of supremacy with dangerous weapons such axes and cutlass at Demurin area.

The opearation crush team, led by the Divisional Police Officer arrested the duo who were the two key leaders of the gangs.
Four additional suspects were arrested at the Mack Brown Hotel at Church Street, following extended investigations.

The suspects are, Obasi Ekene ‘m’, 21, Promise Onoja ‘m’ ,18, OgoekeWeri Omokosi ‘m’ ,24, and Saviour Edet ‘m’, 23.

The suspects also confessed to belong to Eiye and Aiye Confraternity respectively and are responsible for series of violent attacks recorded in Alapere and its environs.

A large quantity of weed, suspected to be Indian hemp, short axes and cutlasses were removed from their hideout.
