OPay has debunked a viral message claiming that the fintech company would suspend or shut down its operations from September 1, 2026.

In a statement shared on its verified social media platform, OPay described the claim as false and urged customers not to rely on the fabricated publication.

“This is FALSE! OPay is not going on break by September. We’re here, and we’re going nowhere!” the company said.

OPay also warned users to be cautious of fake communications, noting that the viral post contained several red flags.

The fintech advised customers to verify information through its official communication channels before sharing or acting on such claims.

The clarification comes amid the circulation of the fake notice, which reportedly urged OPay users to withdraw or move their funds ahead of the alleged shutdown.

OPay has reaffirmed that its services remain operational and that customers should disregard the viral message.
