By Ondo South: PDP’s Nicholas Defeats APC Incumbent Lawmaker In Election Rerun
The People’s Democratic Party candidate for Ondo South Senatorial District, Nicholas Tofomowo has defeated Senator Yele Omogunwa of the APC in the Senate election rerun.
The announcement was made officially by the INEC moments ago. He was declared winner after polling a total of 81,892 votes to defeat his closest rival and incumbent lawmaker, Omogunwa who polled 55,610.
It wil be recalled that INEC had two weeks ago declared elections in Ondo South Senatorial district inconclusive and scheduled a rerun in the Zone for March 9th, same day with the Governorship and State Assembly elections.
Tofomowo has since been declared winner and expected to be presented with a certificate of return.
