The candidate of the Labour Party for the forthcoming March 2nd  Lagos State House of Assembly election, Badagry Constituency 1 seat, Mr Oluwadamilare Samuel Kafisewon popularly known within the Constituency as OSK has announced under the aegis of the #OSK Movement that all is set for the empowerment of over 200 Badagry youths.

The legislative hopeful revealed to BlackBox Nigeria that the programme scheduled to hold on Saturday 9th February 2019 from 11:00AM prompt  at a venue that is yet to be communicated is borne out of his passion for youth empowerment as it portends economic growth for the society at large.

“After due consultation borne out of the passion to make our youths employable and indeed employers of labour, I hereby in conjunction with experienced professionals in the field, bring to our very own Constituency a ‘Youth Empowerment’ workshop scheduled to hold in February 9th 2019 at a central venue that will be communicated soon.” He expressed.

 

According to a statement released by the organizing team on Facebook today Friday 25th January 2019, the empowerment programme will expose youths within the Constituency to global business opportunities, in-depth exposure to using the internet to promote their businesses, information about business registration among other empowering skills. “At the fully packed empowerment workshop, interested Badagry youths will be exposed to obtainable global opportunities, how to explore the internet to grow their businesses, hands-on training on developing capacity, strategies in setting goals that aids the growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), exposure to opportunities / grants available for business growth and expansion, how to go about business registration and explore incentives in getting businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).”

 

The organizers while expressing that the scheduled youth empowerment programme is set to train the highest number of youths in recent time within the Constituency also revealed that after the programme, 200 participants will be mentored for free as follow up to cushion the positive effect of the programme.

 

“To ensure the workshop live up to its true potential and not end like past empowerment schemes, we also offer free mentoring as follow up to 200 participants after the programme. This will enable us keep them up to date with changing global realities and track their success story as inspiration to starters.” The statement reads.
