“We are on a one-way train, and we are not in control of where it stops”, this is an extract from late Olaolu’s last post before the sad incident of his death.

Olaolu who was well-known for his daily teachings from philosophical postulations was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle during his routine Sunday morning exercise at Ikoyi Lagos.

Below is a brief detail about the life of Olaolu Mudasiru.

 

Background

Olaolu was born on August 5, 1968, into the family of late Air Commodore Gbolahan Mudasiru, the former military governor of Lagos state.

He is the first child of the family.

 

Education

Olaolu got his MBBS Degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.

He graduated from ICMA Center in July 1998, where he holds an MSc in International Securities, Investments and Banking. ICMA – International Capital Market Association – is one of 6 departments within the triple-accredited Henley Business School at the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

He’s also an alumnus of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business with a degree as an investment banker with extensive experience covering stock broking and asset management.

 

Accolades

Olaolu is a member of the Medical and Dental Council Nigeria.

He received the Chevening Scholarship for mid-career high flyers globally granted by the British Government.

 

Work

Mudasiru served as the Vice President, of Asset Resource and Management Company from August 1998 to December 1999. Before he proceeded to Standard Trust Bank Plc (now UBA Plc), where he served as the Head of Private banking from December 1999 to August 2000.

He moved on to Oando Plc in September 2000, and lead the Business Development and Non-Fuel Revenue before his exit from the company in August 2003.

He is the co-founder and Deputy Managing Director of Vetiva Capital Management Limited. Vetiva is an investment and asset management firm founded in 2003.
