Olajide Sowore’s Murder: Benue Governor Reacts

The governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has condemned the killing of Olajide Sowore, younger brother to Sahara Reporters’ publisher, Omoyele Sowore, by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.

Recall that Olajide, a pharmacy student at Igbinedion University, was killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday.

Reacting to the incident, the governor via a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, said the gruesome murder of Olajide is a proof of the worsening security situation across the country.

He expressed the hope that security agencies will apprehend those responsible for the murder of the young man.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command during a Sunday press briefing, said that they were ransacking forests to arrest the deceased’s killers.

Ortom also prayed for the eternal rest of Olajide Sowore’s soul and fortitude for his family to bear the painful loss.
