Ogun Police arrest controversial singer Portable

Controversial Nigerian Singer, Okikiola Habeeb, popularly known as Portable has been arrested by officers of the Ogun State Police Force.

The arrest, which happened on Friday, followed the singer’s refusal to obey the 72-hour ultimatum to turn himself in to the police.

Portable had on Tuesday, assaulted some police officers who came to arrest him in his bar in a viral video that emerged online.

The singer was seen raining curses on some officers claiming that an internet fraudster had brought the police to his bar to arrest him for no reason.

The police had given the Zazuu crooner a 72-hour ultimatum to turn himself in, which elapsed today and although the singer’s father had pleaded with the police that he was going to turn himself in, he failed to do so.

Confirming the arrest, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the singer has been arrested and is currently “cooling his feet” at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The singer is currently sitting in police custody till Monday when he will be charged in court.
