NYCN Tribunal Upholds Lagos NYCN Election

 

The election of the National Youth Council of Nigeria which ushered the Olalekan Biliamin Oba led administration has been affirmed and upheld by the Election Petition Tribunal.

According to the Petition report shared on the 3rd September, 2020, the petition process lasted for 60 days with the verdict affirming the election met all constitutional provisions and is hereby affirmed as pronounced by the committee members.

Inline with the NYCN Constitution, electoral petition committee is to be constituted to look into all electoral issues that may come up during the Congress and electoral process.

The election which took place at Teslim Balogun Stadium on the 4th of July witnessed over 500 youths as delegates representing their local branches or Voluntary Youth Organizations.

Speaking to newsmen in Lagos the Chairman, NYCN Lagos State Chapter, congratulated the State Chapter for again setting a new standard on the council election matters.

Comrade Biliamin thanked the committee members for the job well done and commended the sacrifices made throughout the petition inquiry process.

In his words , ” today is indeed historic after peacefully conducting a free, fair and keenly contested election, NYCN Lagos has again demonstrated that it is truly the cradle of NYCN Nigeria by setting a new standard in addressing all matters arising from the Congress.”

“I must commend the Committee members for discharging their duties diligently in the last 60 days, it shows we are all in for the true sojourn that will help change the narratives. Now we can concentrate fully on the job at hand. Let’s get to work” he added.
