Veteran Nollywood actor, Chidi Mokeme has unveiled his new ministry, New Day Assembly Church , which he kept secret from his fans.
Alongside, he openly confessed his unwavering love for his colleague, Chioma Akpotha, revealing that the duo are now dating.
Mokeme revealed this in a post on his Instagram page, stressing he cannot help but love and adore Akpotha, adding that he has no explanation for his feelings towards her as it has made both of them decide to come out of the closet.
He also said the new church was one of the dreams of Akpotha, stressing that she was so surprised when he told her about the new ministry.
He said, “Hello friends and family, I have an important announcement to bring to you. I don’t think I can keep it a secret anymore. A pregnancy cannot be kept hidden for so long. So for some time now, Chioma and I have had something going and we have kept it away from you guys until we are ready to bring it to you.
‘‘We have found favor in each other’s eyes and as such we think that we have a lot in common and we have decided to share our time together and now we bring you the good news of a union that has been made from heaven. This good news is of a calling by God”.
He therefore urged the public to support his ministry, as well as give both of them their privacy, adding that “after all, can two work together except they agreed?.”
Mokeme, 17 March 1972, now 51, is a Nigerian actor and reality show host, who hails from Oba in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, South Eastern Nigeria.
Chioma Chukwuka, born in March 12, 1980, age 43, also credited as Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha or Chioma Akpotha is a Nigerian actress, director and movie producer, who was born in Lagos State.
She hails from Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.
The duo were formally in different marriages before they started dating.
Chioma was formerly married to Franklyn Akpotha in 2006, who reportedly assaulted her as she went through marital violence which later led to divorce in 2022.
Jean Olumba Mokeme, was the spouse of Chidi as they exchanged vows on April 28, 2012.
She was born and raised in the United States of America and works as a doctor and pharmacist there. They have a son, Noah Mokeme.
They both lived seperately at the early stage of their marriage as the wife works at UK while the husband comes to visit.
