‘No competition’ — Lagos East APC leaders endorse Senator Abiru’s re-election bid

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos East Senatorial District have declared their total and unalloyed support for the re-election bid of Senator Tokunbo Abiru, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District.

The party leaders made this known during a recent get-together event organized by the Senator to mark Eid Mubarak.

Speaking at the event, the overall leader in the Senatorial District, Otunba Busira Alebiosu also as Baba Bush noted that ever since the Senator assumed office, Lagos East has received a wholesome transformation which has helped raise the standard of the living of the people.

The seasoned politician added that Abiru had exceeded all expectations by his performance within the months in office in infrastructural and human capital development, hence his endorsement by the group to contest for his continuity of progressive representation.

The APC Vice Chairman East, Mrs Oladunjoye described Senator Abiru as a rare competent leader, a man who possesses the requisite intellectual experience, physical and mental agility with all the critical professional competence, cognate private and public sector experience.

She said that they both worked with the former Governor of the State, Mr Babatunde Fashola as commissioners and during that period she saw the potential in him and she can always stand for him.

In the same vein, Alhaji Seriki Bamu, the Apase Of Epe land delivered the message of the East Senatorial district leaders, making it clear that they are ready to work for Abiru because he has done well in all areas. He also highlighted some of his monumental projects in the entire senatorial district most especially in Epe Local Government.

Described the Senator as an effective and selfless leader who fears God, Baba Bamu stated that the leadership of the District had no regret for supporting him in 2020 during the bye-election, adding that his many achievements had shown that he is ready to work.

In his response, Senator Tokunbo Abiru assured the people of Lagos East Senatorial District that he will continue to deliver quality representation, and facilitate projects and programmes in the district.

The distinguished lawmaker said that the people stood by him in 2020 during the bye-election, hence his commitment to the development of the district.

“Honestly, I feel appreciated and encouraged by my constituents. It is not just the party leaders that have pledged their support, the leaders of various groups in the East Senatorial District have also promised to do the same so that we can continue the work we have been doing. I feel humbled and thankful to God Almighty,” he said.
