The lateness of the Nigerian team in the football competition in the ongoing Rio Olympics is not in any way stopping them to achieve greatness at the most talked about sporting event in the world.
After beating Japan in their first enciunter, the Nigerian team have also edged European side, Sweden at a lone goal match which was scored by Sodiq Umar.
This lead have however booked them in the next round of the competition, making them to be the first team to get to the next round.
With six points, they top the group, while Columbia is second with just two points, leaving Japan and Sweden to be kicked out of the competition at group stage.
Nigeria’s next match against Columbia is on Wednesday, August 10th.
