In the race to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games, the Nigerian women’s football team, the Super Falcons, secured a crucial victory against Cameroon in their penultimate qualifying fixture, owing to Esther Okoronkwo’s first-half goal, proved decisive as the Super Falcons clinched a hard-fought win.

The Super Falcons faced Indomitable lionesses in Doula on Friday, in a goalless draw, but they put a vital goal past the cameroonians in Mashood Abiola stadium on Monday.

With the win, the Super Falcons have booked their spot in the final round of qualifying. Now, they await the outcome of the game between South Africa and Tanzania to determine their opponents in the final round.

The anticipation is high as the Super Falcons gear up to face whichever team emerges victorious from the South Africa vs. Tanzania matchup.

The team displayed resilience and determination throughout the match, ultimately emerging triumphant over a tough opponent like Cameroon.

Only two teams will represent Africa at the 2024 Olympics.

The 2024 Olympics is set to take place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

The Falcons had a history at the Olympics in 2000, 2004 and 2008.
