By Mixed reactions have trailed the decision of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos to pick popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele as the running mate to its governorship candidate, Olajide Adediran better known as ‘Jandor’.
The Ikorodu-born actress confirmed her nomination in a video shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, describing it as “an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child”.
However, Nigerians on popular microblogging platform, Twitter have berated the Lagos PDP for the choice of the movie star, as some argued that the opposition party isn’t interested in defeating the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 polls.
