Nigerians across the social media platforms are currently criticising President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government of Nigeria after the exit of major retail store, Shoprite hit the news.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the South African company which retails items such as groceries, household products, toys and bakery products announced their exit from the Nigerian economy on Monday, August 3rd, 2020.

This development has since generated heated debates among Nigerians who are criticising the leadership of Buhari for crippling the economy and forcing out foreign investors.

Shoprite started its Nigerian branch operations in 2005 starting with a single outlet in Lekki area of Lagos before spreading across the State and later across the country. Before arriving in Nigeria, the company had several branches across Africa including its parent country, South Africa.
