Nigerians React As NCDC Reveals that, It Spent 1 billion Naira in Sending text Messages

Since the News broke that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has so far spent one billion Naira in sending SMS, different people have reacted to the News with mixed reactions.

Well, as expected, a lot of Nigerians have not failed to bring out their calculators to punch in figures, just to be sure that the amount mentioned is not overly exaggerated, and this is just another pointer that Nigerians don’t entirely trust their leaders.

According to Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC, we have a total of 184,426,187 active GSM lines and 268,549,433 connected GSM lines as at December 2019. Assuming they send 10 msgs to 50% of the active GSM lines alone at N1/SMS, that alone is N922M; so the conclusion is that it is not impossible.

Reacting to this News, numerous Nigerians have had their say on this reports:

Sadly, not all Nigerians are buying it. Some believe that if these network providers can give her subscribers as much as 10 free sms daily, then it shouldn’t cost much for this information to get out there via sms. What are your thoughts on this?
