Nigerian Youth Parliament Speaker wins prize for medical services at second Lagos Youth Awards

The Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Azeezat Yishawu has emerged as the “Most Outstanding Young Person in Medical Services” at the second edition of the Lagos Youth Awards.

Yishawu is the first female speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament and a medical doctor by training.

She clinched the award after beating out medical industry heavyweights including Dr. Chinonso Egemba (Aproko Doctor), Adeola Ayoola (CEO and co-founder, Famasi Africa), and Dr. Ibidapo Fashina (MD, Royal Africa Medical Outreach).

Yishawu was honoured at the award ceremony tagged “The Disruptors” and held at Radisson Blu Hotel in the Ikeja area of Lagos on Friday, December 23.

Now in its second edition, the Lagos Youth Awards is an initiative of BBN360, a Lagos-based media company, to recognize and celebrate the work of young people who are making a difference in their fields.
