Nigerian wrestler Adekuoroye bags coaching job at American varsity

Nigerian wrestler, Odunayo Adekuoroye has hit a new feat in her career after being appointed as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Wayland Baptist University, USA.

The Director of Sports at Nigerian professional football club, MFM FC, Godwin Enakhena, made this known in a Facebook post on Sunday.

He stated that Adekuoroye was now about education and sports with her school fees and accommodation, among others being footed by the MFM General Overseer.

“Thank you Canada, welcome America! A new chapter opens for Odunayo Adekuoroye as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Wayland Baptist University USA. She’s not done with fighting, it’s about education & sports, securing a better future and the time is now.

“School fees, accommodation, feeding etc taken care of by MFM GO, Dr DK Olukoya,” the post read.

The child hawker who rose to a wrestling star is a 7-time African champion. She is the first Nigerian wrestler to win a world belt and also won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
