Business mogul and politician, Jimoh Ibrahim has bagged a doctorate degree from the prestigious Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
He becomes the first academic to be awarded a PhD in Business by the renowned varsity since its establishment in 1209. His dissertation was titled “How Megaprojects Are Damaging Nigeria And How To Fix It.”
Ibrahim is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ondo South Senatorial seat in the 2023 general elections.
Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu attended the graduation ceremony and faculty launch in honour of Ibrahim held at the Cambridge University’s Arms Hotel.
The academic also took to his Twitter page on Saturday to celebrate his feat, vowing to use his wealth of knowledge to impact positively.
He wrote, “Today, I officially bagged Doctor of Business Degree (PhD) with first-class honours from the University of Cambridge.
“Honoured to be the First academic to be awarded PhD Business by @Cambridge_Uni since 1209.
“I am poised to use my wealth of knowledge to impact positively. I am delighted as the first Academic to bag PhD Business from the @Cambridge_Uni since the inception of the reputable university in 1209.
“My sincere gratitude to my amiable Governor, Arakunrin @RotimiAkeredolu for gracing the graduation ceremony today.”

Ibrahim, who is chairman and CEO of Global Fleet Group, obtained his law degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University. He also bagged his Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the same institution.
He holds a combined Master of Laws (LLM) and Master’s In International Taxation degree from Harvard University.
