In a viral social media video, a concerned Nigerian citizen has voiced strong objections to the idea of burying the late Nigerian musician Mohbad in Ikorodu for a second time.
This plea comes in the wake of an autopsy and the controversial exhumation of the artist’s remains, which has sparked widespread debate about the respect and dignity of the initial burial process.
In the video, the individual passionately discouraged the prospect of returning Mohbad’s body to Ikorodu, emphasizing that it did not befit the musician’s stature.
Instead, he called upon Mohbad’s supporters to unite and contribute funds for a more suitable burial site.
He was quoted as saying,
“Look here; don’t bring back Mohbad’s body to Ikorodu. He doesn’t deserve to be buried in that kind of place. If it’s for fans to contribute N500 each to afford his body being buried at Ikoyi Cemetery, it’s not too much. And for the government, since you exhumed him, we’ve not heard anything. We won’t rest until we get justice.”
