Nigerian forward, Samuel Chukwueze, has set new goal scoring record as he becomes the first Super Eagles player to reach ten goals and ten assists in a single season while playing for a top-five European league team.

According to Soar Super Eagles, the Villarreal winger recorded this feat in 34 games across all competitions for the Yellow Submarines.

Chukwueze, whose senior career started with Villarreal, has been influential across the La Liga club’s performance over the years.

Unlike last season when he recorded only seven goals across 38 appearances, the 2022/2023 season has been promising for the 23-year old Nigerian whose stellar performance saw him join high-flying Super Eagles players such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Kelechi Iheanacho.

While Italian Serie A clubs scramble under the goal scoring prowess of Napoli’s Osimhen, Ademola Lookman has also been influential in Atlanta’s performance this season.

Kelechi Iheanacho, on the other, was recently nominated for the English Premier League player of the month following his impressive performance for Leicester City last month.
