Nigerian born Lawyer appointed as Canadian Justice Minister

A Nigerian-born Canadian, Kaycee Madu, has been appointed as the Justice Minister and Solicitor General of Alberta, a CanadanProvince.

47-year-old Madu was born and raised in South-East Nigeria. He holds a first degree in Law from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in 2001.

He relocated to Canada in 2005 with his family, and has practiced Law in Nigeria as well as Alberta.

With the new appointment, Madu replaces Doug Schweitzer, who is now Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation.

Prior to his appointment, Barrister Kaycee Madu was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Province, representing the District of Edmonton-South West, after winning the 2019 Alberta general election.
