Reports around the country suggests that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) didn’t make special provisions for people living with disabilities as many of them were disenfranchised at their various Polling units.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that while the election exercise is going on smoothly in several States across the country, People with special needs are being stranded and unattended to at the Polling units and not allowed to cast their votes.

It was reported that the INEC officials were not briefed on how to handle people with special needs and only attended to others who can cast votes themselves.

Speaking at a Polling Unit in Surulere, Lagos, Mr Ibe, a partially blind man disclosed that the INEC’s plan was to disenfranchise people with special needs and stated it was against the constitution.
