In a developmental move aimed at boosting the financial stability of its personnel, the Nigerian Police Force has launched an innovative tricycle loan scheme.
This initiative, envisioned by Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun, is poised to revolutionize the lives of officers across the country.
According to a police wireless message dated March 12, 2025, the Nigeria Police Cooperative Multi-Purpose Society Ltd. has partnered with Bulk Stalker Engineering Limited to offer tricycles to officers at an affordable price of ₦5.5 million each.
The loan repayment plan is structured to ensure that officers can comfortably pay off the debt without straining their finances.
With a monthly repayment of ₦90,000 over a period of 60 months, officers can own a tricycle and enjoy an additional source of income.
The tricycle loan scheme is not just about providing financial assistance; it’s also about empowering officers to take control of their financial futures.
Tricycles, commonly known as “Keke” in Nigeria, are a ubiquitous mode of commercial transport, providing a lucrative business opportunity for officers.
To ensure a seamless application process, forms will be made available at all police cooperative shops. This convenient arrangement allows officers to easily access the necessary documentation and apply for the loan without any hassle.
The introduction of this tricycle loan scheme is a testament to the Nigerian Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel.
By providing officers with the means to acquire a tricycle, the force is not only enhancing their financial stability but also contributing to the overall economic growth of the country.
