Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore has disclosed new plans by the Nigeria Police Force to silence his movement to protest against the government.
He made this known via a post on his Facebook page.
The UniLag graduate cum Publisher disclosed that he has been hearing of plots by officials of the Lagos State Police Command so as to have his passport seized by a court.
Recall that Sowore was arrested earlier in January by a fellow publisher who claimed Sahara Reporters published a false story against him. It was gathered that SR had in one of its stories named Lekan Fatodu as a mercinary used by politicians to stash away stolen funds from Nigeria in London.
He also disclosed that the Panti division of the State Command have written another invitation to him, asking him to appear on Thursday.
Since his arrest and release by the Police, Mr Sowore had at different times called out the leadership of the State Police Command of planning with an unknown cabal to bring him down. He has since the arrest participated in two major protests in Lagos.
See his post below…
For weeks now they’ve been plotting how to get me, yesterday I got a text message from the DCP at Panti to come for an “interview,” further checks show that they are looking to haul before a court in Lagos so that my passport could be seized while they plot others means.
I’ve refused to let these cowardly forces take away my freedom of expression, movement, and the right to protest against obnoxious and deceptive government policies.
I have been informed that the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni is the marionette being used by a conglomerate of forces intended on silencing me, but it won’t happen because my voice does not reside in my body
I’ll be at Panti on Thursday again at 10 AM to honor the latest police “invitation” and ready at all times for the worst!
