A religious speaker, Abdur Rahman Sanni, has acknowledged the responsibility of fatherhood in his book, “The Passion of Fatherhood”.
The book was launched on Saturday, September 4, at Al Faoz Nursery and Primary School hall, Ejirin road, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The national president of Al Hayat Relief Foundation, Dr Asif Olatunbosun Abd Azeez, was the guest speaker.
Speaking on the motive behind the book, Sanni disclosed that the book was to appreciate the immeasurable sacrifices and difficulty his father went through in training him and his siblings, and also in commemoration of his 60th birthday celebration.
He urged all children to show gratitude to all successful parents who have given bits of themselves in parenting them, noting that the roles of fathers in maintaining and managing homes are often undermined by the children because they often do not know the extent fathers go to provide for the home.
“Reading through The Passion of Fatherhood, every child will appreciate the sacrifices his father makes to make him who he or she is. My father who I dedicated this book to mark his 60th birthday, was and is still an embodiment of sacrifice to ensure his children becomes something in Life. That I am an Islamic Cleric today was because he saw ahead of me and advised me accordingly on my career path,” he told our correspondent.
Reviewing the book, Sulaimon Mojeed-Sanni, Publisher of BlackBox Nigeria, noted that “the book – The Passion of Fatherhood – is written is such a relatable simple format codified into what can be regarded as a 10-Point Agenda of a Responsible Father, 10-Point Agenda of How to be Responsible Children and 10-Point Agenda of How to have a society that works for everyone starting from our respective homes superintended over by a father.”
He stated that each chapter of the book speaks to the issue of familyhood and statehood.
“Because one way or the other, a chapter will speak to your person and attitude to life either as a father, an intending father or a son. Without narrowing it to only the male amongst us, the book speaks to familyhood and statehood not only fatherhood. The book dwells on the importance of having a strong pillar in every family,” he said.
