By Netflix, Chris Hemsworth Praise IkoroduBois’ Talent, As Russo Brothers Invite Them To Premiere of Extraction 2
Good times beckons for Ikorodu Bois astheir creative ingenuity of remaking trailer of Hollywood films and musicals are paying off.
The latest low budget remake of the ’Extraction’ film trailer has attracted the attention of film streaming giant, Netflix, Hollywood actor and producer, Chris Hemsworth and co-Producers, Anthony Russo, of the $65 million budget film scheduled for premiere later in the month on Netflix.
Prompting Chris to post on his instagram page,”huge shout out to these amazing young film makers @ikorodu_bois for recreating @extraction trailer shot for shot! I think your version might be better than the original !! @netflixfilm”
The Ikorodu Bois in their characteristic manner recreated and mimicked the trailer of Exradiction, a film centred on a black-market mercenary who was hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.
The film was produced by Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Russo, and Mike Larocca and directed by Sam Hargrave.
In acknowledging the Ikorodu Boiz, both Netflix and Chris Hemsworth tweeted ”ok this is awesome” and ”EPIC” respectively while Russo wrote to invited them to the premiere of Extraction 2.
@Russo_Brothers tweeted,”This is awesome! We would love to have you guys at the #Extraction 2 premiere…DM us and we’ll get you there!, ” which the boys responded to saying, ” This would be a dream come through and this is the day we’ve been waiting for all our lives😭”.
The Ikorodu Bois didn’t just get the acknowledgements, they made the first move after uploading the trailer of the Extraction on their social media handles. The talented young boys from Ikorodu Town in Lagos, Nigeria wrote as caption to their trailer, ”We so much love this movie and we hope @chrishemsworth and @netflix sees this remake, pls retweet 🙏🏽”.
In less that 24 hours, the video on twitter has generated 3.9 million views, over 70,000 retweets and 186,000 likes. While a clip posted on Instagram by one of the film producers, Hemsworth has had close to 8 million views.
The Extraction film has proven to be a big hit for Netflix as it’s set to become its biggest movie premiere ever, so it’s no surprise that work is underway on a sequel. One of the Co-Producer, Joe Russo confirmed on April 4 that he is returning to write Extraction 2, although it’s still in the “formative stages of what the story can be”, BlackBox Nigeria gathered.
The Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony, have written and directed some of the biggest movies of all time, in this universe and arguably in others. For most of their films, they organise a ride to the premiere in a limo and walk the red carpet with the Russo Brothers and cast of the films. The Russo Brothers have now extended the same opportunity to ride with the stars to Ikorodu Bois.
In the last, the Ikorodu Bois has remade scenes from Money Heist to a wide acclaim and have been supported in the past by DJ Cuppy and her Billionaire father, Femi Otedola, who BlackBox Nigeria gathered offered the boys a scholarship.
