Navy Uncovers Oil Bunker In Lagos Hotel

Officers of the Nigerian Navy on Wednesday discovered a hotel in Lagos where oil bunkering was been carried out by pipeline vandals.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the vandals siphoned petroleum products from the pipelines of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) through a pipe that was connected to the two-storey building hotel located in Abule-Egba, a suburb in Lagos.

Reports gathered revealed that the Naval officials acted on a tip off by some residents who had suspected illegal activities going on in the hotel. On invasion, the pipes which were used to connect to the NNPC pipelines were uncovered.

A resident who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed that fuel tankers were known to visit the hotel pretending to be supplying petroleum products, but the reoccurence soon sent the signal that it was rather a depot than an end user.
