Popular musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly defaulting on a payment for a luxury car.
According to reports by Punch Online, Portable purchased a G-Wagon worth N27 million from a car dealer in the state but only paid N13 million, leaving a balance of N14 million. Despite repeated requests from the car dealer, Portable allegedly claimed the vehicle was faulty and refused to pay the remaining amount.
The car dealer eventually reported the matter to the police, leading to Portable’s arrest on Tuesday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, stating that Portable was taken into custody for refusing to pay the debt.
