Mountain of Fire Ministry Sacks Residents, Mosque In Lagos

The leadership of Mountain of Fire And Miracle Ministries have reportedly approached a building situated in Akoka area of Lagos State and unjustly gave all the occupants notice of 7days to vacate the premises as it is set to take over the building, BlackBox Nigeria can report.

Among the affected occupant of the building located at 30, Afolabi Brown Street, Akoka, Yaba, is a mosque which is making use of the ground floor as willingly approved by the owner of the entire building.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that though the real owner of the building is yet to react to the development because he is currently based outside the country, but his Attorney denied any link with the Church leadership.

The owner simply identified as Mr Ayeni had sometimes in 2006 commissioned the lower floor of the building to Anwarul-Islam Movement, a national Muslim body which then used the allotted floor as the Central Mosque in Akoka.

BBN also gathered that the General Overseer of the MFM, Dr D K Olukoya recently visited the building for inspection and he turned down attempts made by the Chief Imam of the mosque to dialogue with him on the issue.

It was also gathered that while the MFM leadership issued the 7days notice on March 25th, no documents have been tendered to back their claim to the said property but expecting the occupants of the building to evict themselves before April 1st, 2017.

As at the time of filing this report, attempts made to speak with the Chief Imam proved abortive as his lines were not reachable.
