The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has listed the two newly established public universities in Lagos State, on its admission portal.
The two varsities which were recently approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) are the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), and the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) — increasing the number of state-owned varsities to three.
JAMB has since listed both institutions as part for options for university admission seekers amid the ongoing UTME registration which is billed to end on March 26.
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Tokunbo Wahab confirmed the development, saying the inclusion of both institutions further signifies that tertiary education seekers now have the opportunity of obtaining their first-degree certificate from both schools.
Adding that they could now choose any of the schools and get their certificate after the expiration of their preferred course duration, Wahab noted that the two new varsities are listed with all the proposed courses on the JAMB website.
The governor’s aide assured Lagosians that the addition of the two institutions would solve issues relating to admission for residents.
