Former Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, on Tuesday resumed, training with PSG, as those in the Parc des Princes are already working out when he could make his debut.

According to Sky Sports’ highlight, it is possible that the Argentine will play against Reims on Sunday, 29th August.

This is going to be the first time Messi will train with other Paris-Saint Germain players since his acclaimed arrival in Paris. Messi trained without any problems and continues working to be available as soon as possible to debut for his new team.

Head coach of PSG, Mauricio Pochettino has noted beforehand that the club and technical body will take it slow with Messi. He said the priority of both is that “he feels good” and is “in the best possible conditions” for the first match.

However, there have been rumours flying around regarding when the six-time Balon D’Or winner will make his first appearance for PSG. Some even thought the debut will arrive before or after the upcoming international break.

In a related development, ‘Sky Sports’ is sure on the matter and has reported this Monday that the ex-Barca man will have his first minutes at his new club in the match away from home against Reims on Sunday.

Before now, it looked like Messi’s debut would be delayed as far as the encounter against Clermont on 12th September.

With no contract until he signed for PSG, Messi had no break after the end of the 2020/21 campaign and went on to play every game for Argentina this summer’s Copa America, which the country won eventually.

Messi needed and enjoyed some deserved holiday and was unable to undergo a normal pre-season given the issue with his Barcelona contract which broke down; now, he is with Paris, where is finally back training as normal.
