Messi escapes robbery incident at Paris hotel

PSG star, Lionel Messi and his family’s suite have escaped a robbery incident that occured at the Paris Hotel.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, just one level above where Messi was staying.

The hotel which was raided by masked robbers had 4 rooms affected as the robbers made away with a lot of cash and jewelry inside Le Royal Monceau.

The robbers are believed to have gained unlawful entry by scaling down the sides of the building from the roof.

A CCTV footage captured two masked men entering through an unlocked balcony door on the sixth floor, just one level above where Messi is staying.

Recall the six-time Ballon d’Or winner only moved into the five-star hotel in August, after completing his controversial move from Barcelona as a free agent. The suite is reported to cost £17,000 per night.

According to Mirror, a female guest had a £3,000 necklace stolen in the robbery, along with a pair of earrings worth £500 and around £2000 in cash stolen.

Although, security has been beefed up since Messi’s arrival but to no avail as some guests lost prized possessions left in their rooms as the raiders took seized the opportunity in their haul.

Meanwhile, a police source told The Sun: “There has clearly been a very serious security breach and it’s being investigated. There is evidence to suggest an experienced gang was responsible.”
