Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will both be missing from the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 16 years.
Ronaldo’s Juventus crashed out of the tournament on Tuesday as ten-man Porto stunned the Italian giants in extra time to seal their place in the quarter-finals.
Messi, meanwhile, scored a long-range goal and missed a penalty as Barcelona drew 1-1 with PSG on Wednesday night and lost 5-2 on aggregate.
It means the two footballing phenomenons will play no part in the quarter-final stage of the competition for the first time since 2005.
