Segun Ogunwuyi, Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has resigned from his position, effective Monday, October 12, 2026.
Ogunwuyi announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the governor, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state.
“Serving the Government and the good people of Oyo State has been a great honour,” he wrote, adding that he remained proud of the administration’s achievements.
The former Chief of Staff also reaffirmed his loyalty to Oyo State and Nigeria but did not disclose the reason for his resignation.
His departure comes amid the resignation of several political appointees in Makinde’s administration over the past two months, as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogunwuyi previously served in the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, where he represented Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Federal Constituency.
His next political move has not been officially announced.
