Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has suspended all the members of executive council who were appointed by his late predecessor within a month since he assumed office.

Aiyedatiwa, who served as deputy to Late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu who died of cancer, was sworn in as governor after a stint in acting capacity.

The dissolution of the cabinet was disclosed in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday.

The affected politicians include the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants. They are expected to hand over to the most senior administrative officers in their Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The statement added, “All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.

“The Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the state.”

It was gathered that the fate of the political appointees has been hanging in the balance since the demise of Akeredolu, whose burial will be coming up in February. The cabinet is believed to have been divided due to the feud between Aiyedatiwa and his late boss.
