Legendary rapper Olamide hints at new album, calls it his last

Nigerian rapper and music executive, Olamide Adedeji professionally known as Olamide has announced his 10th studio album, saying the body of work is 95% ready.

The YBNL boss made this known in a tweet on Saturday, revealing that he was working on his album, ‘Unruly’ but is yet to decide on its release date.

The legendary rapper further stated he is putting finishing touches to make the album “the best ever”, hinting that it may be his last.

“Next Album = #Unruly 95% ready. Release date = I don’t know. Taking my time to make it the best ever… probably my last album.

“Though I’ll drop singles once in a blue moon when I feel like it. It’s been a mad ass run; giving albums back to back,” he wrote.

In reaction, many fans have taken to social media to share their comments, noting that the rapper cannot be done as he still has a lot to offer the industry. They further shared that he’s had a good run in the industry with his career as one of the artists of the decade.

Olamide’s rise to prominence in the Nigerian music scene began in the year 2010 after he dropped his hit rap single “Eni Duro”. The Bariga-born artiste would go on to release his debut album “Rapsodi” a year later. Ever since, Badoo, as he is fondly called by fans, has been on an eleven-year album run, releasing several chart-topping projects with the most recent being ‘Uy Scuti’.
