Some students of the Lagos State University have been inducted into the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the LASU-RTEAN chapel, Nurudeen Eniafe and Olalere Owoseni, saying the union was made up of exceptionally sound students in various disciplines.
It added that the inclusion of students into RTEAN would give the old members a new orientation on appropriate and acceptable mannerism, especially in the way dues are collected from motorists.
“This is the first of its kind in the history of RTEAN and all transport unions. These young and intelligent students within the short space of their inauguration into office introduced new ideas of global best practice into the modus operandi of the union and have now become the object of emulation for all chapters in the nation,” the statement read in part.
The inducted students appreciated the RTEAN National Chairman, Mr Musa Mohammed, for giving them the opportunity to serve.
The statement added, “Mr Mohammed introduced innumerable innovative and relevant policies into the operations of the union across the nation by taking into cognisance the legalities of the actions and inactions of the union’s enforcement officers across the whole nation.
“The induction of LASU chapel of RTEAN is made up of exceptionally sound students in various disciplines. Also, the presence of these students into the union brought sanctity into the manner the daily dues are collected from motorists.”
