Chaos broke out on Thursday at the Isolo campus of the Lagos State Polytechnic after a student was reportedly killed outside the school gate.
Our correspondent gathered that the victim is a National Diploma One student of Business Administration identified as Babatunde Akeju.
He was said to have been hit by a bullet during multiple shootings by gun-wielding guys suspected to be cult members at around 6pm in the evening.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but he had lost so much blood and gave up the ghost while receiving treatment. His remains are said to have been buried on Thursday midnight.
As of Friday morning, there is a heavy presence of security operatives on the campus. Meanwhile, students have been advised to stay off the school until calm is restored in the axis.
However, the school management is yet to release a statement on the incident as at time of filing this report.
