Lanre Sanusi mourns ex-Lagos Speaker, Kinyomi

The All Progressives Congress candidate for Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency, Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS) has extended his condolences to the family of a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Abayomi Kinyomi.

BlackBox Nigeria had reported that the politician passed away at a private hospital on Tuesday at the age of 82.

In a statement on Wednesday, Sanusi described the deceased as a very intelligent personae who prides the legislature very high.

PLS said, “Rt Hon Abayomi Kinyomi remains one of the leading lights in Amuwo-Odofin, especially from the legislative end being a former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly.

“In precise terms he held sway during the 3rd Assembly that is between January 1992 and November 1993, so has one way or the other made his mark.

“However, I cannot forget in a hurry my courtesy call with my campaign team to his residence, Rt. Hon Kinyomi is so youthful at heart, we initially couch our slogan ‘PLS YES WE CAN’ but he stylishly recouched it as PLS YES WE CAN DO IT BETTER‘.

“He is not really someone we can’t forget easily, given his love for positive developments in his constituency, he will never delay in giving his best to issues that demands deep reasoning and elderly counsel.

“Personally I learnt from him that it is important for a legislator to be well informed and in touch with his constituents at all times. Rt.Hon Kinyomi will be sorely missed.”

He added that Kinyomi’s demise will be widely mourned by the holders of reins of power in Lagos as he was an apex leader of the APC in the Amuwo-Odofin area of the state.
