By Lai Mohammed Dynasty! Lawmaker’s Wife, Minister’s Daughter, Idowu Mohammed Becomes New Lagos Agency Boss
Just when the clamour against nepotism is on the rise, the political class seems not disturbed by the cries of the populace as they continue to fit themselves into positions while many other qualified individuals walk around looking for such opportunities.
The recent appointment of Idowu Mohammed as the Éxecutive Secretary of Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) by Governor Akinwumi Ambode has received nothing but knocks as everyone takes it that the appointment was more of advantage phenomenon than other available options.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that Mrs Idowu is not like every other candidates that might have been penned for the job as she is wife of Lagos lawmaker, Hon Folajimi Lai Mohammed of Ikeja Constituency 1, whose father, Alhaji Lai Mohammed is the current Minister of Information and Culture.
A report by Daily Times Nigeria also revealed that Mrs Idowu is a rich kid as she hails from the influential socialite and casino mogul, Chief Solomon Ayoku, owner of Golden Gate Restaurant.
In a media parley recently, Mrs Idowu who is in her late 20s was provoked by reporters who attempted to ask her about how she got the appointment ahead of many others who are on the street.
Her agency, LAGESC which is commissioned to take over from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) brigade is set to be in charge of the Clean Lagos Initiative.
Her appointment is coming barely weeks after a lawmaker sent an exclusive list of preferred candidates to an agency of the Government. The leakage of the list on the social media generated much reactions as the act of nepotism was becoming more glaring.
