By LAHA 2019: Hon. Yinka Majekodunmi Joins Race to Represent Ikorodu Constituency 1, Promises Qualitatitve Legislative Representation

Political activities within the All Progress Congress, Lagos Chapter is beginning to gain momentum as the 2019 general elections edge closer. One of such electioneering activities is the official flag off and declaration of intention by Hon. Yinka Majekodunmi to run for the office of the Lawmaker to represent Ikorodu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA).
The current General Secretary, Odogunyan Estate Community Development Association (CDA), made his political ambition officially known earlier today at the Odogunyan Shopping Complex Ground, Ikorodu in the presence of his supporters in their numbers and other party chieftains.
Majekodunmi popularly known as Majek, who is also a middle level management staff with the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue (LIRS), while revealing his plans for the people of the constituency, promised qualitative representation to the people through adequate transparency, creating and informing members of the community of programmes that will change their lives positively, see to the construction and rehabilitation of intra-community roads.
” We the people of Ikorodu Constituency 1 are faced with a lot of challenges that urged to be presented on the floor of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Our roads are bad which does not speak well of the division that has come well of age. There are too much pressures on our few roads; we are being shortchanged! Our schools under my administration will be rehabilitated as part of my project for the educational sector. School buses and other facilities that aid learning will also adequately be provided” He revealed.
Speaking to BlackBox Nigeria on his lofty plans for the community, the Ikorodu born and bred promised to empower all in the constituency by making them self-sufficient in terms of their source of livelihoods, attract laudable schemes like Agricultural empowerment to the community and make their lives better.
Majek while calling on all to support his political ambition by making sure he is voted as the flag bearer of the party come October 4 when the primary election is slated to take place, also pledged to support the artisans, market women and men in the community in which the empowerment of the widows and aged would not also be left out.
“If elected we will support the artisans, market men and women to actualize their dreams through collaboration with the Lagos State Empowerment Trust Fund in order to contribute their quota to the development of our constituency at large. The aged will not also be left out of our administration. I will commence a scheme, “Ounje Omo” which will place emphasis on the importance of rendering assistance to the aged and widows in the constituency in order to make them happy” he concluded.
In his reaction, Hon. Matthew Adesanya, a party chieftain from the division hailed the great character shown by Hon. Majekodunmi over the years. He also referred the move as a laudable one coming from a son of Odogunyan. He finally urged party faithfuls to make sure the party comes out well in the forthcoming general elections.
In another reaction, the representative of the Arewa community in the division, Alhaji. M. D Hassan praised the aspirant for his all inclusive nature all through the period of his campaign since last year and promised that the Arewa Community is ready to deliver their votes to him come election day.
The official declaration had in attendance party chieftains of the All progressive Congress which included, Alhaji R. I Jinadu, Prince Odubela, Mr. Oluomoniyi, Alhaji Kazim Okumuda amongst others.
It is worthy of note that Hon. Yinka Majekodunmi now officially joins the likes of the Current Lawmaker representating Ikorodu constituency 1, Hon. S. O. B Agunbiade, Toyin Gafar Bolowotan and others to aspire for the same position at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
