Lagos Youth Awards: NYCN Lagos Chairman, Billiamin emerges ‘Youth Advocate of the Year’

The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Comrade Olalekan Billiamin Oba has been announced as the ‘Youth Advocate of the Year’ at the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards.

The experienced youth advocate was listed in the category alongside EndSARS activist and campaigner, Rinu Oduala; Comedian and activist, Debo Adebayo (Mr Macaroni); and youth activist, Moremi Ojudu.

Billiamin received his award at the event which took place on Sunday, Boxing Day at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.

Flanked his wife, Hon. (Mrs. Jessica Enitan-Oba), and other well wishers, the Lagos NYCN chairman who is often regarded as “the number one youth in Lagos” dedicated the honour to all the youth of the state, while expressing his gratitude to the organisers for finding him worthy of the recognition.

Tagged “The Working Tribe”, this year’s edition of the Lagos Youth Awards recognised no fewer than 15 exemplary young people in the centre of excellence drawn from different fields of endeavour.

The event also featured a guest lecture by the first female Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Dr Azeezat Yishawu who spoke on the topic, “Youth Inclusiveness: The time is now”.
