Lagos State Youth Speaker Lauds Governor Ambode’s Varsity Entrepreneur Fund

The Speaker of Lagos State Youth Parliament, Seriki Muritala has commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State over the approval of N15.5million as seed funding and grants for final year students enrolled in the Ready.Set.Work (RSW) program.

IMG-20160816-WA0012The youth parliamentarian said the Lagos State Youth Parliament is in support of the laudable initiative meant to engage and prepare young graduates for the Labour market.

“The Lagos State Youth Parliament believes in the administration of Governor Ambode Akinwunmi for his youth-centric initiates channeled at engaging productive youths of Lagos State. We commend the Ready.Set.Work program and will be ready to give the government all supports as a youth based parliament, “ Seriki told BlackBox Nigeria in an interview.

He further pray that the Lagos State government consider students from Federal tertiary institutions in the state in  subsequent support and empowerment.

Ready.Set.Work is an entrepreneurship and employ-ability training program for final year students of tertiary institutions in Lagos State, aimed at preparing them for economic productivity as value-creating employees or employers of labour.

The project that commenced in June 2016, with five hundred (500) promising final year students from Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), and Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET), will be graduating its first set of graduate in September 2016.
