Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of the late music artist, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
Mohbad’s tragic demise sent shockwaves through the music industry and his fanbase last Tuesday, ultimately leading to his somber burial in Lagos’ Ikorodu area the following Wednesday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, through his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, issued an official statement via his verified X platform (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
In the statement, he affirmed,
“We have been closely working behind the scenes with relevant authorities, and keenly following the ongoing investigations.”
To intensify the probe, the governor made a bold move by inviting the Department of State Services (DSS) to join forces with other investigative bodies.
He stressed the need for inter-agency collaboration and the utilization of cutting-edge technology to uncover the truth.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the significance of a thorough investigation, asserting,
“I have instructed that all those who may have played any role whatsoever in any event leading to the death of MohBad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation.”
He also appealed to individuals who possess crucial information that could aid in the investigative process to step forward and cooperate with the investigative team.
Amidst the grief and speculation surrounding Mohbad’s passing, Governor Sanwo-Olu called for calm among the late artist’s friends and fans.
He urged them to refrain from making inflammatory statements and drawing premature conclusions about the matter.
In his heartfelt message, Governor Sanwo-Olu extended his condolences to Mohbad’s family, friends, colleagues, and fans worldwide.
He wished everyone “love and light” during this difficult time and offered prayers for the departed artist’s soul to rest in peace.
