LAGOS SPECIAL ADVISER, OLUSANYA SPONSORS IKORODU DIVISION YOUTHS ON 3D EPOXY TECHNOLOGY TRAINING

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya and Ikorodu Division Youth Movement (IKDYM) in partnerships with Arowolo (OYOS) sponsored twenty (20) youths from different areas in Ikorodu division on a 3-Days skill acquisition programme.

The skill acquisition and empowerment programme which lasted from 3-days started on Friday 29th of November, 2019 to Sunday 1st of December, 2019 at the constituency office of the legislator along Owode-Ibeshe road, Ebute, Ikorodu Lagos.

In his opening remarks, the legislator, Hon. M.K.O Arowolo made it known that the Ikorodu division youths are trained and certified on 3D Epoxy Floor Design, Installation of 3D Epoxy wall murals and Ceiling Design Biodigeter System Construction.

He said, “We have thirty – two (32) youths that registered for this skill acquisition and empowerment programme. In the last three days, we have been engaging them in a lot of rigorous training in the quest to make our youth to be self-reliance and reduce the crime rate in our division”.

According to Comrade Bisiriyu Samson, Executive Director of the movement, in his short brief appreciated the kind gesture of the Special Adviser to the governor on agriculture for showing interest in sponsoring youths across the division.

In his words, “This skill acquisition and empowerment programme was birthed to add values to the life’s of our youths, reduce unemployment and as a movement that is keen in supporting good initiative in the division, that is why we dim it fit to continue to support programmes of this kind”.

“To all the youths that participated in this programme, my advice for you is to judiciously utilize all the skills that you have learnt in the course of this training. I want you all to continue to strive for success by advancing further on the next phase after this training and always be a good ambassador of this division.

He further concluded by announcing that the next programme of the movement is slated to hold on December 14, 2019, tagged Entrepreneurship Workshop

Mr Oke Godwin Olaoluwa, member of the board of trustee, in his speech, applauded all the good deeds of the legislator and appreciated the collaborative efforts of the movement towards arresting the social vice and rising unemployment among youths in the division.

Comrade Michael Okerede, one of the participant from Imota LCDA, in his testimony stated, “The workshop is expensive and in fact, I can’t afford the fee, but I want to appreciate Miss Abisola Olusanya, the Special Adviser to Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the opportunity given to my colleagues and I to partake in the workshop”.

He added, “3D epoxy is a state-of-the-art technology introduced to give floors, walls or any flat surface an exclusive and unique design. It makes the floor or flat surface strong, fire-resistant, not slippery even when wet, it enables beautiful designs of one’s choice and does not require much scrubbing when mopping, before it sparkles again.

“Bio digester is biotechnology that will stand in replacement of the septic tank (suck-away) and other traditional means of disposing of faecal waste. Unlike the traditional suck-away that is expensive, strenuous to construct, occupies large expanse of land, and filled up in a short period of time; the biodigester cost less, less strenuous to construct, occupies small portion of land and does not require evacuation of the faeces as they decompose as soon as they get to the biodigester.

Other key players of the movement present at the occasion include; Mr Seun Elesho, Mr Niyi Shobajo, Mr. sola Sokoya, Comrade Gboyega Folarin and Mr Olamide Oloyede.
